Some of his work...
My Least Favourite
I don't like this picture because I don't think it shows any creativity which doesn't give a clear image. The picture looks simple, boring and I don't think the earphones work well with the miniature figure as they are too big.
My Favourite
I like this picture because it shows children having fun with their friends being portrayed by a puddle with floating cigarette buds which I think would create a happy atmosphere. This looks like the miniature figures are on floats in a pool as if they are on holiday. I think the miniature figures reflection shown gives a great effect in the picture.
William Kass
William Kass is a photography who does similar work to Slinkachu using miniature figures with miniature object or food. He has been a photographer since 2013. In his studio, produces authorial work based on still life photography. His main work is the series called 'Minimize' but has other series entitled 'food', 'colourful', 'Large Formats' and 'Minimize objects'. Below are some examples of his work:
My Favourite
This photograph by William Kess is my favourite because he is foreshadowing movement from the miniature ballerina as it looks like the miniature ballerina is dancing in a puddle and splashing the water is the air which I think looks like rain drops. Another thing I like about this photograph is it draws your attention to the whole photograph because it has very good lighting.
Kurt Moses
Another photograph who does similar to the other two photographer I have chosen to research is Kurt Moses. Kurt Moses is a photographer who takes photographs of miniature figures doing different actions. In 2010 he started an art photograph project called Un Petit Monde with his wife. Here are some of his photographs:
My Favourite
I like this photograph because I would like to travel the world and this is what the photograph is portraying. The photograph has use the rule of third as the camper van is on a hotspot which shows an element of photography. Kurt Moses has the focus point of his camera on the miniature figures and vehicle so you can see the story of the photograph clearly which is a couple travelling around the world.
My First Shoot
Plan: For my first shoot I am going to use a miniature figure and attach it to an open window, to capture the figure in the scenery outside the window. When I do this I will consider the rule of third and exposure so the photos have the right lighting.
Worst Picture
The first attempt to take a picture didn't go well because it was under exposed. My main focus point was the miniature figure but when I took the photo the camera focused on the scenery outside the window rather than the miniature figure so when I looked at the photograph I noticed the miniature figure was blurred out. This highlights I need to change my focus point before I take a photograph in my next shoot.
I took the photo again another time with the same exposure and same aperture. The problem with this photo is the photo is dark and you couldn't see the scenery in the background. In the photo the background is unclear, doesn't show what's happening in the photo and I don't like it. Also, the camera is focused on outside of the window rather than the miniature figure so this highlights I need to change my focus point before I take a photograph in my next shoot.
Best Picture
All the photographs I have taken aren't the good but out of all of them I like this one the best. Even though the picture is a little dark I like the picture because it shows a clearer image of the story I'm trying to show. In the photograph you can see the shadow of the old man figure which gives an effect as I took this in a dark room but with light coming through the windows. On the photograph you can see the bottom of the window is rectangular in shape showing a visual element used plus it shows the rule of third as the miniature figure is on one of the hotspots.
Shoot 2
Terrible
I don't like this photograph because everything is on a slant so is looks like everything is leaning to the left. In photograph you can't really see the full pen lid like the cigarette bud in slinkachu's photograph and I don't think the photograph is of good quality.
Amazing
I took this photograph outside to give it more of a natural background instead of using coloured card or printed out images. I like this photograph the best because it has everything in focus; the pen lid, the sign and miniature figures. The grass in the photograph looks like it has a spikey texture. I think the natural lightening from outside gives the photograph a better exposure because it isn't too light or too dark.
Shoot 3
Plan:
I'm going to create a zoo scene. I am going to create the fence out of cardboard.
I will use:
A zoo background
Animal Figures
miniature people as visitors
Here are the results of my second shoot:

Not The Best Photo
Out of the entire picture I took with shoot 3, I don't like this picture for many reasons. The first reason is you can see the classroom I was in, in the background of my image which shows I didn't focus on what I was intending to take a picture of. This makes the picture unrealistic and horrible. Also, this was my first picture I took in the shoot and I used perfect and the lowest aperture at 3.5 but I don't have a depth of field. When I looked through the view finder it didn't look that blurry but after I took the picture, I saw that it was very blurry which doesn't show any techniques I've used.
The Best
I think out of all of my photographs, this one is the best because it gives a clearer image of what I am trying to show. I like this photograph because the animal figures are out of focus which shows a small depth of field drawing your eye to the miniature figure very clearly compared to the rest of the environment. The creative element of this photograph makes it unique and captures the story I was trying to tell perfectly.
Shoot 4
Plan:
To make my photography's more realistic I'm going to use:
Wire mesh to create the front of the fence around the animals environment and cardboard for the sides of the fence.
The same background from shoot 3
Animals and miniature figures

The Final Results
Not My Favourite
I don't like this photograph because it is too dark and you can't really see what the photograph is of that highlights the photograph is underexposed. The photograph doesn't show any photography techniques. Also the photograph doesn't show a realistic zoo because the photograph has dull lightening.
Favourites
This photograph is one of my favourites because its shows a small depth as the main focus point is the miniature figures on the bench and the animals in the enclosure are in the background blurred out. Another thing I like about this photography is it shows I have used the rule of thirds as the bench with the figures on are a hotspot which draws your attention to the main focus point in the photograph.
This photograph is also my favourite because it shows an improvement from shoot 3 to shoot 4 as this photograph looks more realistic compared to shoot 3. In addition another reason why I like this photography is it shows my photograph at a different angle which includes everything I used in my shoot to create a zoo. This shows the photograph more clearly and realistic. Furthermore the wire mesh used for the fence shows the element of pattern which is shown clearly.
Although the photograph doesn't have the animal in focus it creates intrigue as to what is going on in the background and the Slinkachu figures are in a clear focus. Also I like the story I'm trying to tell.
Shoot 5
Plan:
I am going use marshmallows as the setting of my shoot. I will open the packet of the marshmallows and scatter them on the two different shades of my blue background. Then I'll place the miniature figures on/in the marshmallows so it looks like they are eating them. In the shoot I will consider the depth of field and use a small depth of field.

Not My Favourite
I don't like this photography because it isn't focused properly on the objects so you can't see what it happening in the photograph and it is blurry. The photography doesn't show any photography techniques like rule of triangle which doesn't make the photograph look good. Furthermore, I took the photograph inside of a classroom during the daytime but the lights were off so the lighting wasn't good and neither was the focus of the camera. This means you can't see any texture or the shape of the marshmallows properly which shows no elements used.
My Favourite
This photograph is my favourite because it looks like the miniature figures are eating the marshmallows as bits of the marshmallows are missing. In addition, the marshmallows give the photograph a smooth texture as that is what you would imagine them to feel like. I have considered the background colour of the photograph. The blue contrast with the pink and white providing the photograph with a happy atmosphere.
Shoot 6
For my 6th shoot I will use this photograph as an inspiration to create my own rescue boat scene using a card boat, miniature figures, empty bottle and straw. I will take the photograph outside either on a wall or the path. Also, the photograph with have perfect exposure, the aperture 11 and hopefully good lightening to create an effect.

Least Favourite
This photograph is my least favourite because it is blurry so you can't see all the objects and background in focus. I don't like the angle the photograph is taken and it doesn't look how I wanted it to look like in my plan.
Favourites
Out of the three photographs I have chosen as my favourites, this photograph is the best. I like this photograph the best because it shows the effect of the water which looks realistic and you can see everything is in focus. The exposure and lightening is great, plus it looks nice.
Best Photographs
Overall these photographs are the best out of all the shoots I have done. I think they show progress from my first shoot to my last shoot as I became more confident. The photographs highlight different exposures and other photography techniques/elements like rule of third, lightening and texture.
Evaluation
The theme of this project is Slinkachu and at first I struggled with this project as I had no idea what to do for my shoots. However as the project went on I began to have ideas which shows more of my creativity. I think I have used some formal elements like colour and shape with my photographs that shows my skills developing. Overall I wouldn't change anything because I am happy with what I have done.
